Make Your Own Apple Chips

My kids and I love apple chips, but paying $5+ for a bag that contains the equivalent of one dried sliced apple is beyond ridiculous! (And after making my own dried apples I can assure you there is only one dried apple in that store-bought bag!) So when I came across this recipe I had to try it.

Apples and Cinnamon...Mmmm!

1 tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 200 degrees F. (The instructions now state to cover a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and spray lightly with olive oil; however, I used my Pampered Chef baking stones (which are seasoned well) so skipped this step.)

Place sliced apples in a single layer, lightly drizzle with honey or syrup, then sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake for 2 hours or until crispy.

I dried granny smith apples as well – without the honey or cinnamon. They taste delicous, too!

One Mile Smile

Mind of Chaos

How easy it would be, to sit here, telling the world that my struggles were all due to outside sources, that my 2am, scattered-sleep nights were caused by a destructive family life, or the villainous boys I met in high school. How easy it would be to place the blame on undeserved circumstances. I am a strong believer in the “we make our own choices” concept of life, and that life does not discriminate in placing innocent people, in hard paths of being. For me, the life-defining choice was to allow myself to fall victim to my own mind, and for my inside, tyrannical anxiety, to control my outside actions. That moment, whenever it might have been, has visited me in nightmare-like ways, all throughout my young adulthood.
